In the Sarang (Love) series, Minku Kim embarks on a transformative journey inspired by the profound experience of marrying Kate in the fall of 2023. This body of work deeply explores the emotional and spiritual dimensions of love, illustrating a narrative rich in connection and transformation.
At the heart of Kim's vision is the striking use of blue, particularly a vibrant cobalt that recalls Yves Klein’s iconic hue. This color serves as a powerful symbol of infinity and freedom while embodying a delicate balance between warmth and coolness. It encapsulates the complex emotions that love evokes, reflecting both its tender and intense qualities. Through this series, Kim invites viewers to engage with the myriad feelings associated with love, encouraging a deeper understanding of its transformative power.
