Lee’s paintings often evoke a state of resonance — where color diffuses like scent, and the brush becomes an extension of breath. In this process, she explores how the unseen can take form, how stillness can move, and how perception transforms into shared emotion. By engaging the viewer within this field of resonance, her work invites a collective experience that transcends the boundary between seeing and sensing.

Petal Resonance embodies the pulse of a scent in bloom—where color bursts like breath and gesture unfurls with visceral clarity. Inspired by Silk Bouquet, the work channels the intensity of petals igniting in air, their motion echoing the surge of life that vibrates beneath stillness. Through sweeping lines and radiant transparencies, the painting captures a moment of collision between softness and force— where fragrance becomes rhythm, and light reverberates through space.

Resonant Ember captures the weight and depth of Royal Resin—its meditative afterglow of agarwood quietly infused into the rhythm of the brush strokes. Golden and reddish curves intertwine like trails of smoke crossing through air, expressing a lingering warmth that endures even as light fades. The work unfolds in slow, deliberate movements, where each gesture burns softly like incense tracing the unseen. Through layered hues of yellow, brown, and muted amber, the painting evokes a moment suspended between stillness and vibration—where fragrance becomes memory, and silence turns into light.

Solar Nectar translates the luminous warmth of scent into motion and color. Inspired by the fragrance Bae Frais, the work captures the instant when light touches air— where the green vitality and tender sweetness of pear dissolves into breath and radiance becomes rhythm. Through fluid gestures and translucent layers, the painting reveals how warmth itself can shimmer into stillness, leaving a trace of energy suspended between clarity and glow.

Soft Ferment embodies the quiet transformation of Cloud Daze—a scent that unfolds like air infused with warmth and sweetness. The work captures the gentle rhythm of fermentation, where time slows, expands, and breathes within layers of color and light. Through delicate gestures in ivory, blush, and pale yellow, the painting translates the tactile softness of Makgeolli into motion. A muted, bluish haze subtly permeates the surface, expressing the clouded depth and quiet opacity of fermentation—where fragrance grows and painting breathes at the same rhythm. Each stroke dissolving into the next, echoing the slow rhythm at which fragrance grows and painting breathes. What remains is a serene vibration, a trace of something living, suspended between clarity and haze.

The Last Breath of Resonance concludes the Traces of Scent series as a quiet reflection on what remains once fragrance fades. The work unfolds as three gestures suspended in motion—each tracing the space between inhalation and exhalation. Soft arcs of muted yellow, brown, and slate merge and disperse, echoing the afterimage of scent that lingers in air. The painting becomes an act of resonance rather than depiction, a rhythm born from stillness and dissolution. What was once scent now exists as vibration—subtle, continuous, and alive within silence.
