Herok | Solo Exhibition
Strata of Time brings together the work of Korean artist Herok and ELOREA in a shared reflection on time, memory, and the way stories are revealed through layers.
Herok works with hanji, traditional Korean paper made from mulberry bark, and paint, building and carving back surfaces through a repetitive, intuitive process. Each work holds traces of movement and experience, where time is not depicted, but embedded.This approach resonates with ELOREA’s understanding of fragrance. Scent reveals itself in layers, evolving over time, shaping memory and emotion through its progression. What emerges is not immediate, but gradual.
Herok is a New York–based multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the relationship between memory, the body, and space. He investigates how physical and sensory experiences can be translated into visual structures.
He holds an MFA in Painting and Drawing from Pratt Institute (New York) and a BFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).

“See You Again” was created in response to ELOREA’s new bottle. Inspired by its hourglass form and material language, the piece reflects on time as something both structured and fluid. The collaboration piece unfolds across three forms. The left carries a single layer, spare and still. The second builds to nearly five or six, growing in weight and presence. The final form is composed of almost ten layers, accumulating slowly, the way incense moves through the body, deepening with time and drawing memory to the surface.
