Be Angry But Don't Hate

We are living in a critical moment in time that will have lasting effects for generations to come. Some very harsh realities have finally been shown the light.

We're angry by the racism and fearful for those who can’t protect themselves because of the color of their skin.

And as much as it feels uncomfortably natural to retaliate with the same violence and prejudice, the fear of further escalation makes me more fearful of the peaceful future we're looking to establish. I believe we need to rely on compassion and kindness in order to progress as a nation.

I implore you to channel your anger towards potentially helping the same people who are misguided.

We will win by being better human beings. We have the choice to finally end this cycle of hate.

Robert F. Kennedy's speech on the night of Martin Luther King's death really resonates with me at this time.

On the night of April 4th, 1968, Robert F Kennedy delivered an unprepared speech, after being warned by local police of a potential riot and his safety, in the heart of the black community in Indianapolis. While all major cities had riots, Indianapolis remained calm after RFK's speech. 63 days after this speech, RFK got assassinated.
